For those of us who were fortunate to be in Sydney during the 1999 New Year’s Celebrations we will always remember the gigantic message scrolled across the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge during the night. Others throughout the world were able to see the sight as the celebrations were telecast across the world. What we and they saw was a brightly lit one word message “ETERNITY.” 

It was a reminder to many of seeing that word scrolled across footpaths for decades in beautiful Copperplate writing. By a man who had been a down and out but who was saved for eternity by the grace of God. His writing was a way to challenge people with the claims of the eternal God on their lives.

He would never have known that his simple contribution to the Christian cause  would be celebrated around the world decades later.

A reminder to us that anything we do at the prompting of God’s Holy Spirit will have eternal consequences. Praise God!
